Studying for BCMSN
Book: 642-812 Cert guide 4th edition.
In the book it appears that there are three types of vtp advertisements.
Summary
Subset
Advertisement Request - Client
But on page 154 - it list these plus:
Pruning Request
When I research this on the web, I usually come up with 3...
On PG 105 - there is a question:
Which GBIC would you use for a connection over MMF?
The correct answer (according to the book is 1000base-SX/LX/LH.
According to what I found on Cisco's website, GBIC's come in three "flavors".
SX - MMF
LX/LH - SMF
ZX - SMF
Anyone have experience with the...
I am working on BCMSN.
I purchased a couple of used 250X routers and routersim's Network Visualizer (full version). This was a plenty good enough setup to study for the ccna.
Now, most of the information covered on the BCMSN deals with 6500/4500 - not supported by Network Visualizer. I looked...
I find that I can do ACL's - just not as fast as I would like.
Has anyone seen a list of maybe 50 story problems, listing a scenario, a maximum number of lines and an answer for acl's?
Thanks,
Dan
Hi,
I'm studying up for the 640-812. Could someone that has taken this new and improved test give me their thoughts?
Thanks,
Dan
PS.. Very disappointed. About 6 months ago, Cisco Press had a "special" on their CCNP certification pack. Now of course I know why - all the material was...
I've been studying for the past 5 months for 801.
I've used both Cicso's ICND and Todd Lammel 5th edition.
Combine that with Router Sim and a Cisco NA Lab notes.
I recently purchased a copy of Transcenders 801 practice exam.
I did not do so well on this practice exam because they put in...
I'm trying to understand Dynamic Trunking Procotol better and I don't have real switches to play with.
If a port is set to On the doc's I have say that the other port, no matter what it settings, goes to trunk mode. Is this correct?
What happens if the other port is set to no? Does it result...
I've read - routers always favor the more specific route.
Does that take precedence over the routing protocol?
IE.. Eigrp has a less specific route, but RIP has a more specific route. Will the router go with RIP even though it has a higher admin distance?
thanks,
Dan
Pre-Apology if anyone finds this "off topic", but I figured, here would be the best place to ask.
I did a couple of certification tracks this year, I'm poor, but with experience, so I did them all with self study material.
Even giving that, between the Self Study material, additional books...
Hopefully simple question for someone that has just passed CCNA - I've tried a couple of practice test and I always seem to get hung up on ACL's. It's not that I can't write or read them, but I seem to always trip up on what interface to place them on, seems like I always choose to apply them on...
My priv1.edb is starting to approach 40Gb's, I'd like to split this in to two databases. Can some one point me to a Microsoft recommended way of doing this?
Thanks,
Dan
Thanks for the feedback, yep, I've been using Sybex and Cisco books. I purchased NetVisualizer 5. I also have an old 2500 - which I have found is "a good thing"TM. Because some of the NetVisualizer commands don't work like a router...
I have been doing all my labs, I feel fortunate, that if I...
I have taken Microsoft MCSE track, one thing that is allowed is to go back, so that you can gauge your time, also, if you see something on a question that tickles your memory about another question you can go back.
I've read that you can not go back on the CCNA exam. Also I have read, there are...
I'm a bit confused on the need for the second command and hope someone can help me out with a deeper explination.
switchport mode access vlan 3 - places the previously specified interface in to a specific vlan in access mode.
I'm not sure what the second command does, but according to a show...
If your taking the 640-801 - you might want to try breaking it down into 811/821...
I'm going to try the single exam route, but going with two is my fall back plan.
Dan
I'm studying for the CCNA (I'd like to take it in one exam) - What would be my best bet for purchasing a switch on ebay? Balancing best for learning versus - ease on the pocketbook?
Thanks,
Dan
Well, the 7044-170 does not come with USB ports.
Do you know what controller ( I think there is only two standards) that the pSeries supports natively?
How about the name of the driver files?
Thanks,
d.
