Does anyone know if there is a USB adapter and drivers so that I can use USB HD Storage?

Thanks,
Dan

Once, i've asked my teacher in a course i attend about whether there is a possibilitly to have USB in AIX box and he said it's not possible yet!

I don't know if what you are asking for now is valid to what my teacher said last year!

To my knowledge, only mouse, keyboard, diskette and optical devices are supported by AIX base.

Other USB devices (stick, disk, ...) probably need a custom-made device driver.

Well, the 7044-170 does not come with USB ports.
Do you know what controller ( I think there is only two standards) that the pSeries supports natively?

How about the name of the driver files?

Thanks,
d.

filesets names:

USB system driver (I'm guessing)
devices.common.IBM.usb.diag
devices.common.IBM.usb.rte
USB keyboard driver
devices.usbif.030101.rte
USB mouse driver
devices.usbif.030102.rte
USB dvd/cd driver
devices.usbif.08025002.diag
devices.usbif.08025002.rte
USB floppy driver
devices.usbif.080400.diag
devices.usbif.080400.rte

I know there's an IBM PCI dual port USB adapter (feature code 2738), also newer type servers (i.e. power5 and systemP servers) have USB ports on their system planar board.
