I have a Dell PowerEdge 1800 tower that has been down for 5 hours now; when you try to boot you get a quick message related to a driver/device error, followed by a BSOD. The BSOD happens right before the Windows login screen typically would show on bootup. I cannot access the Advanced Boot...
Here's the deal, I am salvaging a hard drive and all the data on it for a lady who's computer crashed, so I slaved the drive and booted from a different computer. So, I can copy all the data fine from her MyDocs, etc., but I need her emails from Outlook Express. How can I go about retrieving...
I'm new to this whole Sendmail thing, but I have an ancient box inside our medical practice that is taking in all of our incoming email and bouncing it to our Exchange 2000 Server. We are going to do an office name change, which will also change our email names, so I need to add that domain to...
Well then I might just be inclined to load Apache on an XP box .... It doesn't have to be Windows, I have quite a few retired PCs sitting around waiting to be resurrected.....
Thanks alot mbrooks, everything I think is seperate from the Sendmail box, we have a MailFoundry server that runs through the email initially, then the Sendmail server for our POP user accounts and the routing table for the Exchange box secondarily. The reason we have it is because Exchange 2000...
We currently run
"Red Hat Linux Release 7.2 (Enigma)
Kernel 2.4.7-10 on an i686"
It's running on some hideously old proprietary hardware made by PRISM Medical Systems. We just need an easy way of backing this install up (it has a Seagate tape drive so that's not a problem), until we can...
I am trying to make an intranet site for my office that can be hosted on a workstation; is this possible? We currently have an "official" internal website that is located on our Windows 2000/Exchange Server..... I was thinking if I assign my workstation a static IP maybe I could go somewhere...
Hope this is in the right forum, here it goes:
I just received from my work (for FREE) two servers, a Sun Netra T1 running Solaris 9, accompanied with a Sun StorEdge server. Apparantly it has a couple bugs I need to fix so I brought it home, the problem is, how do I log into the LOM prompt? I...
They will be servers that will handle our Diagnostic Imaging (Xrays, MRI, etc.), we are an orthopaedic practice. We are waiting to implement them because we are copying over and then backing up all of the previous data as well as what comes in each passing day. When all of that is copied and...
Ok, I stole my boss's IDE and the information is copying over. While Im at it, how important would the Backup be (of programs and files)? Or is that just my judgment call?
"... a snapshot of your system state.."
Would that just be a screen capture of my desktop that provides the server name...
So is there any way I can route this backup to a drive on our network? And if so, would it be possible to make a daily/weekly/etc., backup? Thanks again guys.
Blank CD is in and, yes, is compatible as we use these same discs for burning other items, when the drive is connected to a different workstation of course.
OK, let's make my first post a good one.
We are getting ready to implement two Dell PowerEdge 2800 Servers running Windows 2003 Server. I need to back them up. I am doing so by running ntbackup.exe, selecting Advanced Mode, and then the ASR wizard. Our servers have just a floppy drive and a...
