Verify that the analog users are using the same paging code as the digitals. Monitor the paging trunk with a butt-set. Are the analog sets paging to a different zone than the digitals?
I have a Nortel 81C (4.5 software), with ISDN BRI UILC cards. I need a phone that I can use to test the BRI ports. I tried an old M5317TDX phone, but it didn't work. What is a compatible phone? Thanks.
First of all, determine how 911 is configured in your system (CDP code, SPN in AC2/2, etc.).
I prefer to define 911 in all scenarios: 911 (CDP code), 9-911 (if local/LD calls require a 9 before the number), etc.
When you set up your RLI, you may need to set FLEN to 3. This tells the PBX to...
I need to add an auto number announcer to my 81C switch, for extension ID. I need it to answer my call and tell me what extension I am calling from. I have used these units many times, but I have never ordered one. Can anyone give me manufacturer and model info? Thanks.
I am refering to the "Save As" function in the Aspect window of Procomm. After merging the Word and Excell scripting info, I can "Save" the edited file. But if I try to "Save As" to a different name, the Aspect window shuts down. After some experimentation, I realized that there was an easy...
First verify what kind of switch is on the other end of the PRI. Match the DCH and RDB programming to that. In my experience it has always been easier to change the PBX to match the CO. If other end is NI1, you may need to set IFC to D100.
Check out Mertek Industries' T1 adapters. (www.mertekjcs.com) They make an adapter that allows you connect RJ45 directly to the PBX. Their products are also approved by Nortel.
Verify the quality of the physical connection between Call Pilot and the ports used on the MICS. Loose wiring can cause trouble. Corrosion can also build up inside the surface (biscuit) jack, causing intermittent trouble.
I was able to get Procomm scripting to work on my XP Pro PC. The only thing that does not work is the "save as" function. I got around this by naming the initial file with a name that will also work for the merged file.
I recently purchased a new laptop, and THEN discovered that Procomm is not compatible with XP Pro. I have to use scripted programming on Nortel systems. Is Procomm the only script software available?
Everything in procomm works, except for custom scripting (via Word and Excell). When I try...
I just purchased a new PC and THEN discovered that Procomm Plus is not compatible with XP Pro. It installed OK and communicates with with Nortel switches. But I cannot create/save new scripts via Word/Excell. It runs up to the point where I try to save the merged file. Then I get an error...
By Mailbox ID, do you mean the mailbox number? Can you "change" a mailbox's number? I was under the impression that you could not. But if you can, it would be a very pleasant surprise. Thanks.
How can I convert all the mailboxes on a large Call Pilot system (over 3000 mailboxes) from 4 digit DNs to 7 digit DNs? Can I do it without losing mailbox messages and greetings? The CP is tied to a Nortel 81C.
you may also need to install a resistor in series with the MOH source to match the impedence. The symptom that indicates a need for this is when the music volume oscillates up and down.
i read somewhere that the physical vs. logical shelf numbering was mis-printed in some Nortel docs.
Also, when building new shelves and assignng loops numbers, is it true that you should start with highest loop numbers and work toward lower loop numbers?
