I just purchased a new PC and THEN discovered that Procomm Plus is not compatible with XP Pro. It installed OK and communicates with with Nortel switches. But I cannot create/save new scripts via Word/Excell. It runs up to the point where I try to save the merged file. Then I get an error message that Procomm must close.

Is there a work-around, or an alternate telnet software?

I have tried running PCPlus directly from the CD, without installing it onto the PC - with no change in symptoms.
Thanks

Procomm is not supported on XP, but I don't recall running into any problems that weren't also apparent on Windows 2000. My assumption would be that the problem you are running into is due to another factor. Is this merge script something you wrote or received from another person? What kind of error message do you receive?

I was able to get Procomm scripting to work on my XP Pro PC. The only thing that does not work is the "save as" function. I got around this by naming the initial file with a name that will also work for the merged file.

When you say "save as" function, do you mean the sdlgsaveas command? If so, that is one of the commands that started acting "weird" under Windows 2000. If not, please let me know what kind of problem you were seeing.

I am refering to the "Save As" function in the Aspect window of Procomm. After merging the Word and Excell scripting info, I can "Save" the edited file. But if I try to "Save As" to a different name, the Aspect window shuts down. After some experimentation, I realized that there was an easy work-around. Just save the initial file to a name that will work for the subsequent merged file.
