Hi all
I have a Winsows SBS server 2003 with exchange loaded on there and my manager in his wisdom has setup an accountan external ISP for a new part of the business - the only way we can get the emails from them is via POP3.
Problem I have is when I POP the ISP to get the email, it tells me...
Hi All
I have a DC and a second server that is simply a member of that DC.
When I log onto my PC using a local account I have to authenticate to the second server every time putting in DOMAINNAME\Username
Is there a way that I don't have to do this? With logging into the domain on the PC...

Yip - that be exactly what I did - with no joy!!!
Any more ideas would be appreciated (without having to re-install the lot)
Thanks

Hi all
I've got a windows SBS 2003 server with Exchange 2003 all loaded up nice.
Some plonker has removed the virtual directories in IIS and has totally broke my OWA.
I don't seem to be able to re-create them! I've tried the Metabase explorer and removed the ds2MB entry and re-started...
I think I'm missing something in my configuration and it's driving me nuts.
I have a new web server in my DMZ that has a nice www.websitename.com and can access that from the outside world no problem - when I try and access the site from inside the company (behind my firewall) I get site not...
Hi all
I have a strange problem. I need to have a database that supports Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Korean characters.
I've been thinking about AL32UTF8 but not entirely sure as we have seen that some characters are getting stored/converted incorrectly in our testing.
Any advice...
Hi All
I'm on Windows 2003 SBS with Exchange
Recently, I had a crash of some sort and figured it out but I've now got a whole load of undelivered email in the Failed Mail folder (under the POP3 connector)
I've had a look at these emails and they are all addressed to...
Hi all
I've got a windows 2003 server acting as an AD/DNS server with my PC pointing at the server to act as my DNS Server
Whenever I go into NSLOOKUP and lookup an MX record it always seems to add my domain to the end and points back to me.
C:\Documents and Settings\lwalters>nslookup
Default...
OK
Sorry for the delay in getting back - have been on hols :-)
Yes, the server has an MX record - and I can telnet to the server on 25.
It seems that the server has been closed for relaying which is my problem.

Hi All
I've installed an Exchange 2003 server (sp2) on a Wk3 box and when I try and send emails to the outside world I get an NDR back with the following

Hi All
I'm trying to connect to my exchange server via POP3 but when I connect it keeps asking me for account information.
Which account info should I be using, the domain username/password or do I have to set someother type of account information up?
Kind Regards

Incase you haven't figured this one out yet - from the inside it's simply the IP address of the machine or DNS name if you've got that set up,
from the outside, via a Firewall its the Public IP address you've assigned the Exchange server, or if you're going via a re-mailer in the DMZ it will be...
In exchange goto Connections -> IMS -> On the Internet Mail tab click the notifications button. Click on the Send Notifications for these NDR's radio button and uncheck the boxes below.
This will stop you (or the mailbox you have specified) from getting the NDR's for mailboxes that do not...
Hi all
I have a 3COM 2250 switch which I need to run a packet sniffer on (am using ethereal) to monitor network traffic of a few of our users.
Does anybody know how I can configure the switch to allow me to see their traffic?
Thanks

Thanks both
I checked the IP settings and me being a bit crazy at the end of the day yesterday. I gave them both (direct connected LAN's) an IP on the main network.
I've now taken them out of the subnet and onto their own subnet and everything works fine.

Hi all
I'm trying to setup a test case in my lab whereby I have one server on the network via normal LAN and another server with SQL 2000 loaded all working etc directly to the 1st server via a 2nd NIC and cross over cable.
I can see the 2nd server in explorer no problem but when I try to...
Sorry, should have said it was SATA. Kudos to you both though - I put the reg hack in first, didn't work so removed it. Installed the chipset drivers for the SATA, didn't work - so then re-put the reg hack in and hey presto - 279GB of disk! (Shame that windows takes 21GB of disk for its...
Drivers are going to be a problem. I've just gone into the device manager on the machine and there's a single PCI device that's not got drivers loaded. Looking through the rest of the devices, no SATA device controllers are installed so I'm going to download the drivers for the SATA controller...
