Never tried it! I would assume that the user would be able to access the system group level files but won't be able to run certain commands!

I would assume so! perfpmr consume memory so your server was busy memory-wise and couldn't serve any telnets!
It all depends on how much memory you have on that server!

You better review what that script does!
Remember to use absolute paths inside your script! Chances are that you are running the script under / where it doesn't mention where it stores its output (assuming it writes to relative path file redirection)

If i understood your question correctly! you need to drop the tsm user and then create a new user (with your preferred name) and then chown -R new_user:new_group /tsm_dir
