anyone come across this before:

inetd[172878]: Running server /usr/sbin/telnetd. The error number is There is not enough memory available now.

This occurred about 45 minutes after the server was rebooted, and has not re-occurred. So, I'm hoping it was when I was running the perfpmr command to collate data gathered.

thanks

I only ask stupid questions because I'm thick

I would assume so! perfpmr consume memory so your server was busy memory-wise and couldn't serve any telnets!

It all depends on how much memory you have on that server!
