I use a Cisco 1811 for my corp. network. Works wonders. expensive, though.
I have my DNS records to point my MX and CNAME records to both my IPs. so when one link is down, emails and web requests automatically hop over to the other link.
First off, i use a full C subnet (192.168.0.x)
Generally, I used my high IPs for servers and shared stuff( 200 to 205 are servers, 210-215 are shared network printers)
100s I use for people who use static IPs
the low numbers i let DHCP take care of..
hope this helps!
Morning All,
I want to add SBS 2003 to our current 2000 Environment (non-SBS). Is there a way to simply add the server to the domain, but NOT take control of DC/FSMO/etc/etc? I want to tinker with the new stuff before we go all-out on a 2003 environment.
Thanks!
Hello all,
ACS 6.0, Messaging 7
All extensions are set to delayed rings, AA is set up.
Typically an incoming call is picked up by AA after the 1st ring. However, when I forward an extension to another one, ex. 12 to 15, and a line rings, the 2nd extension (15 in this case) rings once as well...
Heres the old way of doing it:
static (inside,outside) 67.94.72.xxx 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0
conduit permit tcp host 67.94.72.xxx eq pcanywhere-data any
conduit permit udp host 67.94.72.xxx eq pcanywhere-status any
Im a bit of a newbie myself, but your static declarations...
try doing this :
static (inside,outside) 192.168.0.1 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.255
without the last 2 0's at the end. I believe those are implied, and you don't need them. (actually, i believe i never used them on a command line, and the command would bounce if i manually added those...
this is the old way of doing it:
static (inside,outside) 192.168.0.1 192.168.1.2 netmask 255.255.255.255 0 0
conduit permit tcp host 192.168.0.1 eq 3389 any
this way has become phased out for Access-lists, which Im a bit rusty on.
sorry for the screwy subject text!
Is there a way I can keep track of users' login/logoff times into their AD Directory? We think we have some employees leaving early, but their friends clocking them out at the right time. I figure if I can see when they log off the domain, thats their 'real'...
just as a follow up:
i got this done.. i manually copied all the files from the old profile into the new one, but i just had to delete the temp inet files directory first, since thats where it was dying. (long filenames)
thanks again!
Hello,
I just migrated from a basic peer 2 peer network to an AD environment. However, some of my users are accidently logging onto their local accounts instead of the domain account. Is there a way I can disable these local logins?
thanks!
Thanks seaspray,
however, the problem is that the local profile currently logged on isnt even ON the user profiles tab. Every other computer i've migrated has had it, and this one seems to be giving me issues.
Greets,
Im migrating a local user profile to our new Domain. (Win 2k server)
the local user login name is 'jchung', but is linked to the "JAMESR" profile.. i created the jchung profile on the domain, and initially logged on. Here's where i hit a SNAFU:
I want to copy the old local profile to...
Im a bit lost;
is there a way to force users to have a passworded screen saver, and having the SS start after 5 mins of inactivity? password would be their domain login password.. i've looked in GPO, but can't seem to find it..
thanks!
