Internet monitoring software for Corp / Enterprise level

I need some help understanding the many ways to track and monitor Internet browsing.

I've googled the <blank> already...

What products do you all use? Software or Hardware?

Do you have to gather the data first and then use software to review it?

any help or advice is appriciated.

Set up a rpoxy server something like ISA then cfg it to capture all taffic then analyse that using a reporting tool like webtrends.

This method will also let you filter for dodgy sites.

Go linux :)

there are many systems out there that are free. IPCOP and monowall come to mind. Smoothwall isn't free but a great product none the less.

surf control is very good for control and reporting

it's hard to convey five-dimensional ideas in a language evolved to scream defiance at the monkey in the next tree
 
We use SurfControl for web filtering, email (spam) filtering and desktop application monitoring
