    Drive Letter assignment and RIS

My ris installations are getting the drive letters all jacked up on the clients. Why would these get installed as the last drive letter available? E.g. e:,f:, G:???? DO you change the targetpath in ristndrd.sif to c:\WINNT instead of \WINNT? Do I change this somewhere else?

    RRAS causing NIC IP conflict

I have W2K server with RRAS setup for allowing dial in access through 2 modems. Everything is fine until a remote machine dials in. When they connect, the RRAS service assigns another IP address to the NIC causing a conflict. Get errors 8032 and 8021 in the system event log. Using nbtstat -n...

    RRAS Issues

I just experienced the same problem. One thing that took care of the issue for me was to check the security on the laptop/remtote machine's DUN connectoid. It has the same options as the Authentication methods in RRAS. I don't know if it is the best choice, but I use the advanced settings, with...

error 1384 when using /net time command w/o admin privledges

The policy is set up for all domain users to change the system time. That was the first thing I checked. Doesn't make a difference. All of the users belong to domain users as their primary group. It runs in a logon script net time \\servername /set /yes. Again, it works fine as admin, but...

    OleMainThreadWndName!?!

I had the exact same thing happen today. Do you get a timeout error while printing? In the event viewer has a shared file or resource missing, or can't be found? The user removed the shares or somehow the share was corrupted.I shared the folder with one other person and the error disappeared.

error 1384 when using /net time command w/o admin privledges

As administrator, the time is updated on the machines properly. When typical user logs in it gives the error 1384 a required privledge is not held by the client. I can't find any info regarding privledges with this command. I understood it to act as a service, but I guess this isn't so.
