    Migrating mailboxes from a SBS2003 toa SBS2003

Hello all, my company recently acquired another remote site that has it's own SBS2003. Their exchange server is functional and contains their mailboxes at this time. In my corporate office I too have a SBS2003 running exchange. I have created accounts on my domain for them so far but I need...

    Cryptochecksum line means what ?

Hey all, I'm looking at copying a config from one of my live PIX to a new one and changing a few IP addresses. I'm just curious as to what will not apply from this config, what is specific to each device and can't be used in another. I'm pretty bad with knowing what needs to be in a PIX...

New PIX 501 configure and install, new to the PIX, some questions

I'll look at these instructions. Does anyone see any issues with just copying a config from an operational PIX?

New PIX 501 configure and install, new to the PIX, some questions

Hello all, the company I work for is purchasing a new office so I need to deploy a PIX 501 to the location. I have four other PIX 501s at other locations but I didn't configure them, an outside person did prior to my employment. Here's where I'm at: I've plugged into a LAN port and stepped...

    Print jobs are wacked!!

Is this happening from all workstations or just one? Is this a new issue or did it just start? Where does the server print to when mapped to the troubled printer? Can you ping the printer or see it in some HP interface from the print server? Personally, I hate printers but they are a...

User cannot be added because the trust relationship between this...

worstation and primary domain failed. I get this error when trying to add a user to the local machine at one of my remote locations. The set up at the remote place is: XP Pro machine, connected to a unmanaged D-Link switch, then to a Cisco PIX 501 then to a cable modem. My end is: Cisco PIX...

What might cause a remote workstation with a VPN connection...

to have a trust relationship error with the server in the home office? From the remote site to the home office there is: XP Pro workstation, a switch, a Cisco PIX 501 then a cable modem. The VPN is established over the web to the home office which has a Cisco PIX 515e to a backbone switch...

    Trust relationships between subnets?

I'm revisiting this. I've read that no trusts can be established with a SBS. I failed to mention that was my authentication server in my previous posts, shame on me. But I don't understand why a workstation would require a trust when it's got a VPN connection up and authenticated.

Removing read-only from workstation directories via group policy?

Okay, I'm feeling like the idiot prime at the moment. I guess I never noticed that every directory is set to read-only? I mean, my server is the same way. This all came about due to me trying to figure out why a shared exel spreadsheet would reset itself to read-only after a few saves from...

Removing read-only from workstation directories via group policy?

I fear in exploring my group policy options I have set this myself somehow. Once in the c: drive on every computer on the network I can check properties and the read-only box is highlighted. It won't accept a change to archive at the local machine, it just resets back to read-only even...

One instance of Outlook 2003 making a .xls read-only

Okay, now it looks like it's just an issue once I post this spreadsheet to the Public Folder. One change is allowed then after the save the next instance won't allow any changes and displays read-only. Why would Outlook on the workstation, or the exchange server reset it?

One instance of Outlook 2003 making a .xls read-only

Hi, I'm trying to setup a situation where there is an loan equipment list(Excel 2003) in a Public Folder on a SBS2003. I created the spreadsheet and posted it to the public folder and allowed permission to edit to certain people and others just to view. This works great except on one...

I've created a letterhead, I need to lock the work so far...

Okay, to me "letterhead" is a standardized form for company use when an official communication is needed. The top of the Word document is the Company name, logo, address, phone numbers, website info, date, subject and from line. I removed the "line". It was more of a background color...

I've created a letterhead, I need to lock the work so far...

but allow text input below a certain point. Basically I want people to be able to type in the letterhead but not change the letterhead I've created. Word isn't letting me go below a line I added in the letterhead at this time. Thank you.

Internal web feature of SBS2003 and external access

Okay, I've never noticed whether I was using the vpn connection or my usual one. I'm looking IE now at internet options, connections and I've added a vpn connection. Will it try that first then whatever path is available to the internet after? I may answer my own question as soon as I post...

Internal web feature of SBS2003 and external access

tfg13, my goal is to enable salepeople to access the internal webpage when vpn'd in. If they need to web browse through the vpn connection when connected that's fine too. But once that vpn drops, would they still have web browsing capabilities? TamedTech, I'll check my browser...

Hmmm, well, it's not. I can check email, I can remote to my servers...but the web browser is still going to my default when I'm on my home PC.
