    Report documentation input?

If you are using stored procedures for your business logic which is not available to Crystal, then you are right that 3rd party tools will not do the job. However, they will certainly give you a good starting point. There are several which we have tried, and ended up using Report Miner. It...

    Visio Architect Portable Data Types?

I am using Visio Architect (10.0 - XP). I had a model which worked fine until recently and now any data fields added have different portable data types (e.g., SBCS VarChar(10) vs. VarChar(10)) which is causing it to fail the model check. Anybody know what I have doen wrong? Thanks

Can Any one Pls Help (SQL)

I am not sure what you are trying to pass. SInce CR uses the SQL to control the data it needs and the grouping, you have little control. You should be able to further filter your report by using a "Selection Formula" and passing it to the report. This would can be done by most...

    "Export as text" error?

Further testing indicates a slightly different issue. The preview shows only one record to preview (based on SQLQuery created in visual linking), but when the export file is created, it appears to be for a different record than the one in the preview screen! Thoughts?

    "Export as text" error?

I have tried .chr. It can be converted to .txt and made to look like the .txt file should if I want to write my own report, but that is why I use Crystal. This works fine except in these formulas which involve multiple lines and formatting - for example: stringvar outline := "This...

    Documenting Reports

If you want documentation on what the report does (including listing all your formulas), you can use the export report definitions which is part of Crystal. If you want something more polished including a 'picture' of the report layout, check out Report Miner. Works for me!

exporting the definition layout, besides TEXT

We use the Report Miner Extract utility which gives a lot more than the export function.... There is also a product called SpeedSpeccer.

you might try checking the report miner utilities - they have several which list various aspects of reports and may have something useful.
