Working on a proposal with Server Edition and R9, and I am looking for clarity. Customer wants to install Server Edition at their data center and serve 2 remote locations, one with 20 IP phones, the other with 50 IP phones.
Just to clarify, with R9, it is now possible to virtualize the entire...
Has anyone ever installed the Multitech FF230 fax device onto the NEC SV8100? I need to make sure the NEC can send the DTMF digits properly to the Multitech fax device.
Hoping someone can help out here.
We have been reselling the Avaya IP Office for many years and are considering picking up the NEC SV8100.
I was wondering if anyone out there has experience on both products and what the general thought was on the IPO vs the SV8100. Strengths, weaknesses ?
Thanks.
The 4625's are discontinued, and the 1600 series doesn't seem to do it though. Avaya is apparently introducing a new line of phones next year, and One-X Portal will be coming out Release 5:

The primary difference between the 2 products is the system capacity. They provide a very similar level of functionality. CM can grown to hundreds, or thousands of sites with thousands of extensions, the IP Office to 32 with 384.
Does anyone know if it is possible to either:
- hot desk between IPO and Communications Manager
or
- Call forward a set from IPO to an extension on CM
I am assuming that these systems will be networked together (which is possible).
BTW - you need a networking license, and an advanced networking license, although it does depend on whether you are using a 406 or 500 cabinet.

Yes. But, IMAP clients will not deliver voice mail messages to a handheld device. That's why our client needs IMS. They are running Vista and want their VM messages sync'ed and also delivered to their handhelds.
Avaya does make a dongle that plugs into the back of the IP Office. You can have your licenses ported over to the new device - from the key server license to the dongle. This should solve your problems.
I've checked threads here and it seems that IMS is not supported on Vista, but I couldn't find anything concrete.
Does anyone know if IMS is supported on a Vista client ? If not, is Avaya working on this - Vista's been out for 1.5 years now.
I know that Release 4.2 will support IMAP. Does that mean it will work with Groupwise for voice mail deletion synchronization and voice mail message appearance in Groupwise ?

We are an Avaya BP. We're also a little lost on this issue which is why we're coming to Tek Tips. Avaya doesn't seem to know what to do with this.
If you know of a patch do you have any details ?
