So I close a sale, but then I get an email from the future client and attached is an Avaya brochure for the one-X 9670G. I know the phone is not supported on the IPO, but is there anything similar supported. I checked the matrix but nothing stands out. I can't help but think that the customer, for his investment, wants something more exciting than a 5420 on the bosses desk. ???

Not really, not for the next year at least I'm afraid, in next years release of 5.1 is planned 9600 series support :)

So I figured as much but it's hard enough trying to close when the decision maker has been looking at less expensive flashy phones from Toshiba, Samsung or wherever (even though the Avaya is a better product)and then not have something, anything comparable.

If he likes style over substance it can be a hard sale, did you show off a one-x client on a mobile/cell?

You need to hit him with the features, demonstrate how it helps his Business make money by improving efficiancy etc. VM Pro is always a good one for that. :)

I actually had to go to a 3rd party to get some 4625 phones for a customer with too much money who wanted color screens because i couldnt get them from my distributor.

Substance did win out over style this time as the client chose the IPO, but it sure would be nice to give a combination of both.......

One-x will not impress anyone who likes attractively presented products...it's rather plain in comparison to Phone Manager :)

I would impress a customer with UMS and one-x portal for the future
All webbased so quick installation and saving of costs instead of putting phone manager on all the pc's
PM maybe cheaper but costs more with install (pmpro in this case)

^still pitching for coloured blfs eh! :)

We have a 4625 in here, its just a phone, the coloured screen is massively unimpressive after the first 3 minutes.

havent plugeed it in since i went to 5.0 wonder if it still works?

I do not like 4625 too
I installed them once and had problems getting the ftp backup working
The 5610 and 21's did but the 25 did not want to work
I had to create groups in the text file so the 25 did not get the ftp settings.

Was fun to do but it should not be neccessery
