I have users in the UK that want to be able to login as an agent in our Canadian Office. I know that it needs to be handled by a short code, I just can not figure out the syntax.

I.E. We have a help desk in Canada and a user in the UK office wants to be able to login to cover a shift.

We have full comunication between the offices (ie the UK extensions can call us in Canada)

I have been able to set up a short code that will allow us to capture an outgoing line in the UK and dial local numebers.

I have searched the Avaya KB (which in my opinion is one of the worse KB's I have EVER seen)

Any suguestions would be great.

Thanks

Go to user > telephony > login code
All hotdesk users have to have a login code.

*35*extension*logincode# to login
*36 to logoff

I agree. The short codes above do work if a user in Canada tries to log with a user on the Canadian phone system. I am looking for a way of sending that *35 short code to a remote system.

I am going to state the obvious now. I take it you have advanced networking licences (at each end) in a SCN configuration???

You indeed need to be on 4.0 or higher and have the advanced networking license !!!

ACS - Implement IP Office

Thx folks. It turns out that the company that we purchased our phone system from really has no idea what they are doing. They advised us that we had purchased everything that we need, well turns out that the did not provide a Advanced Networking License.

Thanks to all that replied.

Don't forget you need the licence in both systems not just one.

ACS - IP Office Implement

BTW - you need a networking license, and an advanced networking license, although it does depend on whether you are using a 406 or 500 cabinet.
