Hi Shauna,
I did two things, I'm not for sure which one worked, but I think it was the 2nd one.
1st: I defragged (although it didn't need it). Like I said, I don't think that solved it.
2nd: I went back in to the printer on her computer and had her switch to an old PCL print driver, not...
On a Window 2000 Server, I need to give rights to a group so they can add a Folder on the shared drive, and rename it, but they cannot delete it. Everytime I go into the Advanced portions to take off the Delete portion of the group with Modify positions, it removes Modify and they can't rename...
Is there a Reg Hack at all to get around the Win2k pro - Max of 10 connected users at all? We have a piece of software that requires us to have an admin account logged in at all times (can be locked). I don't want to leave our server logged in as sometimes we have more than one TS session into...
This weekend we will be moving data from one file server to another. It has to be an exact copy of the data. Problem is it's a large amount of data (60 gig or so) and I do not want to re-create all of the file permissions and shares. Is there a way using Xcopy or a special software that will...
I have a database that I've created for an office. I want it to be setup as a template so they can open it up, make their changes, and save it as a different name. Is there a way to do this in access 2003?
Thanks,
Swish
45 is not bad for running across state lines on our WAN.
Both systems are at SP4 with all critical updates applied.
I'll try some of those solutions on the links and see what I come up with. Thanks for the posts.
I have a Windows 2K computer in an AD Tree. Whenever the user opens anything from Office, or a large file of any sort (large meaning maybe a meg - 5 meg) it takes around 45 seconds to 3 minutes to open. First I thought the network card, had that replaced, nothing. Re-imaged the machine...

I have about 4 new machines (all re-imaged) that will randomly drop network connections. At first It thought bad nic, but after installing new nic's they still dropped. Then I moved them to working cubicles to test the cords, jacks, etc, they still droppec. It seems to work for a while about...
Is there a place to turn on Cache Exchange Mode in Outlook 2000. I know there is in XP, and 2003, but I can't find a place in the settings underneath 2000.
Thanks,
Swish
Hi Blue,
I totally was missing that. I found that out and hadn't had a chance to post back yet to say I got it.
Thanks for responding though. I appreciate it.
I'm creating a template for word, and I basically want to allow the users to TAB through the fields they are allowed to enter information in. I do not want them to tab into areas they aren't.
I've got the layout setup, but it's what I would call an open layout. Nothing is in boxes, etc...
Oops, my bad change that.
I want it to pull the last 10 characters of the last name, and if the last name doesn't fill 10 characters it then finishes it out with the first name until 10 characters has been recognized. ie
Column A Column B
Frank Smith SMITHFRANK
David Swisher...
I need to create a formula in excel that looks at column a and sees all of the words and then splits out to make an 8 character client code.
For example:
Column A Column B
Frank & Mary Jane JaneFraM
Frank Smith SmitFran
Frank Smith & Mary Jane JaneFraS
Any...
I'm working on a claims database and have a question on populating fields based on Combo Box Choices.
