I have a user who was using the free Adobe Reader 7 on Windows XP SP1. It had been working fine for awhile then suddenly started misbehaving. When she tries to print anything, an application error pops up and the program ends. I've tried:
1) Installing the update for version 7
2) Uninstalling then reinstalling version 7
3) Unistalling version 7 and installing version 6

So far nothing has worked. Has anyone experienced a similar problem? I would really appreciate any ideas on how to fix.

The error:
AVToolTipView: AcroRd32.exe - Application Error "The infrastructure at "0x77f83aed" referenced memory at 0x00000000". The memory could not be 'written'. Click OK to terminate the program"

Did you ever find a solution to this problem? I've got the same thing happening. I've spent hours and got nothing on it.

Thanks,
Swish

I'm afraid not. I ended up wiping her computer and reinstalling all her programs (except acrobat reader 7 of course). Now she and everyone else in our office are back on version 6. It was an incredible waste of time for both me and her and I'm sure I'll be extremely reluctant to install any more products or updates from adobe in the future. Sorry I don't have an answer. If you have more luck finding a solution, I would still be interested in knowning what it is.

Good luck!

Hi Shauna,

I did two things, I'm not for sure which one worked, but I think it was the 2nd one.

1st: I defragged (although it didn't need it). Like I said, I don't think that solved it.

2nd: I went back in to the printer on her computer and had her switch to an old PCL print driver, not the new PCL 6 version. VIOLA. It worked like a charm.

Hope that helps u guys out.
