I'm running Avaya IP Office 500v2
I've configured my IP office to use SIP trunks (dialing out of another IP Office at another location) when calls are made, except when 911 is dialed.
When 911 is dialed it dials 911 on Line Group ID 0. This works perfectly fine currently, as I've got 6...
Thanks guys, I did use monitor (I hadn't thought of that) to try and determine what was happening, it was always going over the network to the site that would do the dialing, I did see differences in the digits being sent between the two, but was scratching my head a bit, what I did that ended...
I'm changing one of my sites to dial over the network and out of our PRI at a different site instead of the local lines. This seems to work fine, except that my SIP conference phone no longer works.
I'm running IP Office 500, the phone is an Avaya B179 SIP Conference Phone.
My current setup...
The thing is, it was in the cupboard for 2 years because it stopped working and the user just went out and bought another laptop, if the CMOS battery was bad all of the sudden (2 years ago), would that really prevent it from showing any signs of life or powering on at all? (honest question, I'm...
Apparently it's been sitting in a cupboard for 2 years, so it's been without power for a long time... and when I was working on it I had the battery out while disassembling everything, so I don't think that is the fix :(
Thanks for replying.
Thank you too rclarke250
I've gotten the data off...
rclarke250, thanks for the reply!
I attempted to do this, it's got 4 legs, and VERY small, but I picked two of the legs after some testing, and they give resistance when the button is open, and when i push it, it goes down to 0, seems the opposite of what you said, but maybe I'm testing wrong...
When I push the power button NOTHING happens, no lights, no flicker, no sound nothing. When it's plugged in the battery LED light does show, so it's definitely getting power, I even tried another AC adapter to be sure, it wont boot, but does show as charging the battery.
I figure it's either...
Hello,
I hope I'm posting this to the right area.
I'm looking to make (or if it exists, find software) a virtual drive, that I can save files to, but upon saving the files to it, they will be distributed to other drives.
IE: I copy three files to my "virtual" drive, and it writes these files...
Hey All,
I've been in the IT field for 3 years now (after graduating a 3 year Computer Programming Analysis program at college). Where I currently work now, they hired me on as a coop, then contract, then full time for a total of 3 years.
I now wear a couple hats at work, one being Network...
To anyone who has encountered this anomaly,
I installed windows onto a sata hdd successfully but it was a version I wasn't happy with so I decided to wipe it and try another version.
With two different copies of windows xp I'm not able to successfully install windows onto a sata hdd anymore...
All the printers are setup to use our WINS server, so thats why I figured I was able to ping it, but maybe I'm wrong and maybe some ARP packets are making it over.
I tried turning on ARP Proxy in PPtP, but it gives an error, I'll investigate more when people are off the network tonight.
Thanks
I will give that a try (pathping) thanks technome.
Something I did notice is that the VPN link (that the print jobs are traveling over) is set to NOARP. I'm wondering if this whole problem could be due to the printer not sending/receiving arp packets to/from the server sending the print jobs...
Hello all,

Hello,
If your parents computer is on dsl I would take a look in their network connections, there should be one called "Internet Connection" if you go to the properties of it, there is somewhere to setup port forwarding. I know whenever I come accross a computer on a DSL line I have to do this...

Hello, I have the following situation:
I have 2 samba servers right now. I currently rsync one way from the primary fileserver to the backup fileserver every half an hour. This keeps a recent copy of data in case the primary goes down, but I now need more functionality.
I will be adding a 3rd...
Well I've resolved my problem. Turned out the records for the 2 accounts were corrupt, couldn't delete, view, or add them.
I tried just copying /var/lib/ldap from our backups to the server but nothing was authenticating against it successfully, anyone know any reasoning behind this? Only thing...
