Thanks Faithless. Will DFS provide file security (ie. redundancy) or merely access to files on either server without the file being located on both servers? I would like to have to dynamic or sync'd copies of files/folders - one on each server. David

Does dfs provide increased file security as far as making files available even if server 2 were to fail or is it simply a mthod of link to a file located somewhere else. I am looking for a way to have dyanimic copies of files on 2 servers that sync. Thanks David

I am lost on this. Any help greatly appreciated. I want to duplicate the fileshare on our primary server to our secondary server which will also have a file server roll. The point is to have redundancy in case of a failure. The servers will also be geographically far apart. Thanks, David

I added the secondary server as a "backup controller" under domain controllers folder in the active directory window of the primary server. Then I installed the domain controller role on the secondary server for an "existing domain". The two servers seems to be identical...
