    Alert server crashes

In all honesty, you may want to consider upgrading your version of Backup Exec. Version 8 is relatively old now. Version 8.6 (rev 3878) is fairly common today. Version 9 has just been released. Given you are running Windows 2000 now, I think this will be your best course of action in the...

    Verifying Fails for Normal Backup

They could be related. Few things we need to establish first. 1. What version/revison Backup Exec (8.6 Rev 3878)? 2. What tape drive/media are you using? NB: If you are using DLT or LTO unit, you don't need to do a software verify (in the backup job), as modern tape drives do a hardware...

Access Is Denied to Remote Agent

Are you using Small Business Server 2000 ? If so, you cannot backup remote servers from SBS2000, even with the remote agent installed. Is the remote server in the same domain ? If not, is there a working trust relationship in place ? If so, then ensure the Backup Exec Service Account in your...

    Job status 'Loading Media'

This Veritas article specifically refers to a "tape eject" scenario. However, still have a read though, and you may find that it might just work in your situation. http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/192055.htm Regards, John.

Backup Exec 2.0 says files inaccessible and in use when they are not

Are you sure you are using BE version 2.0 ??? You really need to upgrade !!! Try BE version 8.6 (rev 3878). Forget version 9.0 for the time being - Wait for most of the bugs to be fixed in v9.0 first. Version 8.6 seems fairly stable.
