Hi Hakim001

Hi all,
I've got a problem after installing SP2 on a W2k3-server. There is an error in the system log, when I start the tape engine:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: adpu320
Event Category: None
Event ID: 9
Description:
The device, \Device\Scsi\adpu3201, did not respond within...
hello again,
ok, it was not the afd.sys...
when the server is hanging, I cannot to connect to a share from itself... but I can connect to a share from another server.
so, any ideas?
thanks...

Hi GlenJohnson,
I think not, that's a problem with dns or dhcp.
when I try to connect a share, I become no error-message.
We think, that's a problem with the afd.sys (Q296265). We want to make the update this afternoon, and hope, that the problem is solved...
thank you

jepp, that's my problem...
i've got a server, and sometimes I can not connect to a share and the users cannot login,
but I can ping it and I can connect on it with a terminal client session... When I reboot it,
it is OK for the next few days...
Does anyone know, what here can be the problem...
hello all,
the server is now up since 44 Days...
we think, that it was a problem with the mainboard. After we changed it and reinstalled the W2K SP2 it doesn't crash...
Thank you to all for your help...
many greetings
elwood
ok, it wasn't the SystemBoard... the server crashed after 16 days...
the server crashes only, when the users are working on it... so, something overflows... but what?
JimEkleberry: first: thank you... the swap-file is on C:, Size 1.5GB, 2.5GB are free... And is there not a Message in the eventlog when the drive is filling up?
wongyc2k: thanx, yep, we maked that, but nothing... black screen, and the server hangs... only power off/on 'helps'...
Ok,
we tried it, but there are no Messages in the EventLog.
Now we changed the System Board, and now it's about 12 days up...
So we are waiting on the next crash...
Thanks and a happy new year

we have a problem with a W2K-Server, that crashes daily without any error messages in the event logs... one week ago, we dated all BIOS and Firmware up, and it runs about 9 days 16 houres 9 Minutes and 27 secs ;-)
On that server are all(!!!) services. It is in a domain with only one...
Hi,
nono, the rights for the admin groups where ok...
but a normal user have had no access after the SP2-update on a printer. that domain was the first, that we have installed with SP2, and not updated from SP1 to SP2.
We deleted the entries in the policy 'access from the network on that...
solved...
a policy was not ok... Access from the network on that computer was set on Administrators and BackupOperators. there was no problem with SP1.
we think, that the problem occures, when SP2 is installed and a policy will be updated.
thx, trotzdem...

Hi welshguy,
this is the article Q271901 in MS-KnowledgeBase... we tried to make that... but it functioned not.
So I can say, that there are problems with NT-drivers on a W2K-PrintServer... That's enough for me... I hope our customer is the same meaning...
thanks a lot for your help...

Hi welshguy,
we have 2 equal print servers. On the first server we have only W2K drivers, on the second are NT drivers too. So, I think, it can be a problem with the nt-drivers.
there are some error messages in the event log, 'error 45 Document failed to print due to GDI/Driver error in...
Hi,
we have two PrintServers, one only with W2K-Drivers and one additional with W2K/NT4-Drivers. That server goes often down. The system is halted, only power off/on 'helps'...
Can it be, that the server have problems with the NT4-drivers? It is a HP LaserJet 4, DriverVersion 4.3.238, directly...
Hi wontolla,
why you cannot to connect a Share on W2K? You have an user there, you can connect on the IP-Adress... You must not have a Trust, I think so...
