Hello,
Internal email and recieving email are both operable. When sending outbound email, they get stuck in the Queue, and when I track them, it states they are "submitted to Categorizer."
MX/DNS records are correct. Unsure what else can be done.
Some loop like this, some just get stuck on...
Hello all,
On 4/7/04, our backup for 49.3gb took 5 hours and 36 mins.
Last night, our backup for 51.6gb took 14 hours and 20 mins.
Granted, more data = longer time to backup. But still, 2+gb adding another almost 10 hours just does not seem right. Consistently since 4/7, time has been slowly...
So is this correct then?
/foreestprep on AD Schema Owner
/domainprep on AD Infrastructure Owner
Don't know why its like this, but those are on different DC's. Found this by doing a netdom query fsmo.
Thats the only last step im not completely clear on. Unsure to as if I have that right.
Thanks
So should all of those fields be cleared? Should I have not re-entered information for msExchLegacyAccount and msExchLegacyDomain?
It does not say whether or not information should be re-entered for any of them.
Thanks
Is there anything else I should worry about though?
Backup
/foreestprep on AD Schema Owner
/domainprep on AD Infrastructure Owner
*These are two different DC's
Install Exchange 2K3
Thats it? Mailbox's and everything will be ready to go? Nothing else to worry about?
Thanks
Yeah, I wanted to do a full backup either way. But is it safe to includ the M:\ in the backup? Or just backup the information store?
Really? The mail server can stay on the network while those command process? Good to know
Dont have it installed.
Are you sure? I've read on numerous places that there is some prep work ...
Disconnecting the AD Schema Owner from the network
Run adprep /foreestprep on mail (AD Schema Owner)
- If no errors, put back on network
Run adprep /domainprep on fs (AD Infrastructure Owner)...
What about staying on Win2K?
We are preparing to upgrade from Exchange 2K to 2K3. Does this sound like a good plan?
1) Full backup of mail and file server (windows backup utility will work)
2) Disconnect mail server from network
3) Run adprep /foreestprep on mail (AD Schema Owner)
If...
abuthemagician, how do I check this?
Also, to prepare my backups, should I just do a complete backup of the mail server? Or just the c:\ + all the exchange info? I'm kind've weary about backing up the M:\, as I've heard horrid stories of people losing it when they attempt to do anything with...
I've tried all forms of our mail server (mail.myserver.com/net, mail.domain.net/com with and without http:// and /exchange) to no avail. His outlook web access via the web works fine now, but he can't access email with outlook. I have it set to use his Earthlink connection, login to our mail...
Clear msExchEncryptedPassword
Clear msExchLegacyAccount
Clear msExchLegacyDomain
Change msExchAdminGroupMode from 2 to 0 (zero)
- I have done each of these. And restarted the services. Now when I go back and view each of these though, all the data is cleared. I put them all back, except for...
Sorry for the double post.
I had the same results,
> msExchAdminGroupMode: 2
Now, I do not know if we are supposed to be native or mixed, but I do beileve native. In by clearning these values, will I hurt anything else after restarting the services?
