    No you should be able to use either keys but they have to match the version of Windows that the first machine was installed with. To try to make sense of that. If you used a coporate version of Windows for the first machine and ghost that. Then you can only use coporate S/Ns with the machines...

    Does is say what or where the plug-in is? Have you tried full uninstalls, plus deleting or renaming the Adobe folder from within the Program Files folder?

    If you are connecting using a user account with admin rights on the pc it won't ask for credentials. Are you using the same username and password as you use to install the software? Also check that the 'Task Scheduler' service is running on the machines?

    Go to another pc on the network and try \\<computer name>\c$ and see what it says. It should ask you for login details of an administrator on the machine you are connecting to. See how the machine reacts to that.
