Using Formulas By Rows and Columns

I have an Excel spreadsheet that I would like to convert to a WSS 3.0 list. Problem is that it seems you can only have formulas in columns and I need them in rows and columns. This old forum post, thread820-1438158, presented this scenario well but closed without an answer. As a workaround, I...

    Yahoo via Outlook 2007

Is your Yahoo! account a subscription-type account? I believe you can only get POP3 email services with a subscription-based Yahoo! account.

Enabling incoming email without your own email server

Our SharePoint site has incoming email enabled along with the prerequisite IIS SMTP service running and I believe all this is configured correctly. Problem is that our outgoing email server is not our own (and is not Exchange) and I'm trying to give the corp. email administrator some direction...

HTTP 403 error when uploading spreadsheet to WSS 3.0

I recently setup a WSS 3.0 site and everything works fine except for creating a list by uploading a spreadsheet. After browsing to the desired spreadsheet and pressing "Import", I get "The website declined to show this webpage - HTTP 403; Most likely causes: This website requires you to log in."...

Does Sharepoint version by delta or entire doc copy?

I also read in some documentation (book or TechNet) that it stores complete documents per version but I can't find the statement at this point for ref. You can do some configuration for saving only major versions and how many majors and minors it saves to lessen the impact on storage space but...

    WSS 3.0 setup advice

You should probably give some consideration to the option of enabling versioning. If you allow this, the storage space required for your docs will multiply with each change. Of course, you can configure versioning in a couple different ways to lessen the impact. Just something to keep in mind.

Limit on number of mailboxes Outlook 2000 can check?

A user's Outlook 2000 has two internet email services and one other service (fax server on the local LAN). All are working fine in this config. However, I need to add a third internet email service to check another mailbox. The first three still work fine but I can't get Outlook to check the...

Response Point Products for Start ups

I was reading about Microsoft's Response Point products being sold by several manufacturers and the limited reviews sound favorable. My questions are: Does anyone have any experience with these products in the real world? Are they actually so easy to deploy and keep going? Would you recommend...

Old PBX to VOIP - Please suggest

We are currently going through the VoIP implementation process and will be going live next week. After looking into several products and providers, our solution provider is setting us up with a Shoretel solution. Lots of features, easy administration, and the provider has done a great job so...

    Rugged VoIP Handsets

Thanks to everyone for their responses. In the end, our choices were narrowed by the solution provider we decided to go with. Since a few of you recommended Spectralink, I feel the selection was not a bad one. However, the system has not yet been implemented so the jury is still out.

    CPS Agent SNMP Error

Well, the error has stopped but I don't know why. I've scoured the logs to find out what happened at approximately the time it stopped and have found nothing other than a series of system restarts. My best guess is that a MS or Backup Exec update was applied that corrected it or whatever was...

SQL Driver Issues - MDAC Didn't Resolve

The solution: I resorted to a Windows Repair initiated from the OEM XP disk. All was well when the system came back up. I'm not crazy about carpet bombing a problem like that but it worked. Still no idea what the cause of the problem was.

SQL Driver Issues - MDAC Didn't Resolve

Yes, I confirmed that SQLSRV32.dll is on the system disk and all registry entries refer to the correct path. I did this by searching the registry for every instance of "SQLSRV32.dll".

SQL Driver Issues - MDAC Didn't Resolve

I'm having issues with a client computer running MS Office 2007 Pro on XP SP2. The client uses Access to connect to an MS SQL 2005 DB. Opening the DB gives an error about ODBC connection failed. I went into the ODBC connections and, when attempt to open the applicable System DNS, I get: "The...

    Rugged VoIP Handsets

Researching options for my company's near-future VoIP implementation. I've searched for some type of ruggedized wireless handset (ie. to enable warehouse managers to roam) and have not come up with much. Conditions are not exactly harsh but would like a unit that could survive a 5-6 ft fall. We...

    SQL Authentication Issue

Some type of MS SQL/Remote Desktop authentication related issue seems to be halting the Win 2003 server. During SQL access of various DBs by various users, SQL access will be cut off along with Remote Desktop access. However, simple file access on server shares is not affected. The only...
