    Belkin Flip DVI-D KVM Switch

Well I'm gobsmacked..... Belkin have certainly taken a wrong turn somewhere: I thought they were a brand I could trust. Like the review says, it's a great product concept and a no-brainer seeing as the alternatives are pretty much non existent. Well I'm so glad I posted before proceeding, I culd...

    Belkin Flip DVI-D KVM Switch

Hi All, I'm trying to run a PC and a Mac Mini through the same Apple Cinema display (20", 1680x1050 resolution), apple USB mouse and Keyboard. I've recently bought a Belkin Switch2 for Mac Mini, which I was enraged to discover didn't support the Apple display. Since then I've found another...

    Digital Time stamp automated collection

Hi All, Quick question: does anyone know of any apps that can be downloaded that will extract a list of file names in a given folder or volume with the date last modified, accessed etc - the complete attributes for each file? This would be really useful for diagnosing version changes and even...

HP Deskjet 1220C won't work on Mac OS X

Hi All, I've attached an HP Deskjet 1220C printer to my Mac Mini (OS X Tiger) using a Parallel to USB converter. Great. The only problem is that I can't get the thing to accept any output using HPs driver version 2.7.1. All that happens is the print queue stops itself and I sometimes get a...

    Problems connecting to FTP servers

Sorry Dan, I'll go an have another look - was unsure as to whether the error messages would be of any use. I've heard that I need to check whether it's a problem with a passive/active setting so am looking into that. I'll try and get accurate error messages and post them. Hope you can excuse...

    Problems connecting to FTP servers

Hi All, Query regarding FTP connections over the internet: I'm increasingly having to download repro files from FTP sites rather than being supplied a disc or ISDN. It is often the case that any given site will connect ok through Safari on a Mac but not on a PC with IE, and vice versa (with...

    Optical Media Management Unit

Thanks for your excellent reply TazUk! Sorted then, I'm going to get a single unit to start off with and see how it goes. To clarify: does the unit act only as a hi-tech storage cabinet, or is it possible to read and write data without removing a disc and putting it in the computers own CD/DVD...

    Optical Media Management Unit

Hi all, Does anyone have experience of the CD/DVD management products on the market - e.g. http://www.imation.co.uk/products/disc_stakka/ I've seen so many mixed reviews on this particular product that I though it a good idea to see if anyone on here has actually used such a device in...

    Error Message in Internet Explorer

Quick question, I'm getting an error message "Out of Memory Line:90" in Internet Explorer running on a Windows XP PC. The message appears when explorer is launched and simply dissapears never to return when the OK button it presents is clicked. Does this sound familiar to anyone? I'm wondering...

Problems with LaCie D2 External harddrive

Yes, but I want it in NTFS for using the windows machine as the backup server. I don't really want to re-format if possible as I have two drives in a redundancy cycle and I'd be wiping all my backup and data timelines (and have no where else really to put them in the mean time). Pixel

Problems with LaCie D2 External harddrive

Interesting... I've been buying LaCie products over cheaper alternatives because they've got a hell of a reputation in the graphic arts industry, I know some guys who won't get anything else. I havn't had time to get onto them yet but will do as soon as I get a spare moment. Thanks for all your...

Hi Garebo, Good idea actually - I'm going to see if LaCie have got any spec on this problem... Any further suggestions from here are still very much welcome of course! Cheers Pixel

Problems with LaCie D2 External harddrive

Hi All, Wondering if anyone recognises any of the symptoms I'm getting with a LaCie D2 160GB External Harddrive: (on Windows XP(SP2) host) - Will usually copy files from the system harddrive the first drag and drop - any further copies prompt delayed write errors - Then can't stop the device...

    Controlling Internet Access

Thanks guys - I'll check out the products you mentioned. I thought there must certainly be software options available for this purpose but I'm no too familiar with this side of things. Like the joke Kaht, it kind of tickled me in conjunction with that lamb picture you've got - probably the sort...

Backing up network desktop sources to External Harddrives (Problems!)

OK - I've had a suggestion that the problem may be the fact that the external drive is connected to the PC via USB2 - and the Mac tries to copy the data too quickly and causes the transfer to fail - is there any truth in this does anyone know?
