I agree with the last comment. I would a postOpen event( or retrieveEvent triggered by Open with post ) ... retrieve all my dws in this place and later I will trigger a postRetrieve event where I can capture the event after fo the postOpen.

try leaving your dw in Graphic Mode.
if u are creating your dw manually, your Select is wrong. It's better to create dws and leaving them in Graphic Mode.
If this is not your problem, mail your code to see it.
