I don't know about SMS 2003, but with SMS 2.0, you just had to have F & P installed - it did not need to be enabled.

technome, Thanks for the post. The problem I had was actually before the login prompt. I powered it down (via the power switch) this evening, and it came up fine. Must be one of those Microsoft "features" :-). Maybe it just needed some long overdue TLC.
