Sounds like you have a routing issue. Is rip turned on between the 8600 and the private interface of the contivity. Does the 5520 route table know how to get to the Contivity network? It should have a route entry if it is routing.

What you are seeing is correct. The address from the DHCP server will also be the gateway. The VPN box will proxy arp on behalf of the client. If you are having routing problems from the client to your internal network, make sure you setup a "private gateway" address.

I am using Nortel Alteon platform with R55 software. In the log I am receiving many out of state packets. Checkpoint tells me it is typically a problem with non-asymetrical routing. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this problem? Thanks in advance.
