Hi!!
Thanks for the info.. in one of the Safe@Office boxes we're running 4.5.44x, but we've got one in another site running 4.5.50 which also has the same problem.
So from what you've said, it seems the problem is related to NG-At the moment we're running NG FP2 (no AI), but the problem is...
Hi people!
Wonder if anyone has ever tried setting up a VPN between a Firewall 1 NG box and one of the small Safe@Office boxes??
We've successfully set up the VPN and communication seems ok, but intermittantly (and at random intervals) the Safe@Office box seems to drop the VPN connection...
Just thought everyone would appreciate a little update on this now we have it sorted!!
Basically it was because of the SecuRemote version we were using. I had downloaded the latest one from Checkpoint which was build 52057 for Win2K-but when I checked again (1 week later!!!) Checkpoint had...
Thanks for that-to be honest we had already sorted it and I've been meaning to post a follow up on here but just never got around to it!
After much digging I found a forum somewhere (can't remember where exactly-I'll post it when I'm back at work on Monday) where it was generally agreed that...
Hi all!
We have a problem with SecuRemote NG FP2 with IKE and pre-shared secret. SecuRemote connects successfully when the user enters their id/password but, after around 10-15 minutes no more data can be passed over the VPN. A red exclamation mark appears in next to the key in the SecureRemote...
Hi..
I'm pretty sure that SecuRemote uses some weird and wonderful UDP ports for authentication-although I'm not sure exactly which ones. However I do know that we had big problems getting SecuRemote working at all when it was behind another firewall that was doing address translation-In fact...
Hi!
Wonder if anyone is able to provide us with some assistance.
We have installed FW1 NG Feature Pack 2 on Red Hat Linux 7.1 as provided by Checkpoint. We are experiencing problems getting Hide Nat working. We want our internal network to have their addresses NAT'd before going out on the...
Hi!
It's a very long story, but it's resulted in us having an Exchange 2000 server with a DNS name containing a _ (underscore). Consequently some mail servers reject mail from a server with a hostname containing invalid characters and its beginning to cause us problems.
So-has anyone ever...
Hi!
We have a large SQL database using Binary Sort order - however we have found out that the application we are using prefers a Dictionary Sort order.
So, does anyone know if it is possible to move (or even backup/restore) the existing database across to another server which has a Dictionary...
Does anyone know if Active Directory should be installed on an Exchange 2K server?
We have performed a migration from Groupwise 5.5 on to a test Exchange Server (with A.D. installed) and all went fine.
But when we did the same thing on our production server (A.D. not installed) the accounts...
Wondered this myself - I did the 2152 Win2k course about 2 months ago and it was covered in that. Yes NT4 sp4 and higher has NTFS v5, but... (yes there's always a but...)
I mentioned this on the phone to MS yesterday and the reply was "Yes, NT4 SP4+ does have NTFS v5 but it is still...
Yes the partition is definitely NTFS as there is a lot of other data on the same partition with the correct security information.
Just to let you all know I called MS tech support yesterday and they said "Hmmm.. never seen anything like this!" Good eh? The only thing they can suggest...
Tried the chkntfs /d but still no good I'm afraid! Thanks anyway - I'm grateful for all the suggestions I can get!
It's looking like a Microsoft Tech Support call! :-(

Thanks for the reply! Sounds like a similar problem - only this is locking everyone out, even the file owner!
Anyway, I've got an URL link for you to view the properties page (nicked some space from a friends web server!).
This is the properties of a file that was restored from tape onto an...
Don't know if anyone else has seen this(!)
We have Windows 2000 Server configured as a domain controller. The server hardware has recently been upgraded (It was an NT4 PDC before) and all the data was backed up from the PDC before using Backup exec version 7. Once Win2k server was installed...
