We are using MS exchange server for e-mail and our outlook on all in-house machines started to hang for 15-20 seconds before outbound mail gets sent. It is probably happening on inbound too, but it is hard to see that. What could have happened to cause this?

when an e-mail is created in outlook express and spell check is performed it says "error occurred while spelling was being checked". When sent, it says "spell check on this document was halted". This is not using Word or anything else just creating new message.
