Database size larger than actual user mailboxes

    Q. Why did I do an offline defrag? A. I asked users to purge mail and I am setting limits, which they have done. Some users deleted as much as 600-plus megs of email from their respective boxes. I temporarily turned off deleted items retention as you mentioned prior to posting this message...

Database size larger than actual user mailboxes

Good day. I recently ran an offline defragment on my Exchange 2000 server. Although it's size decreased, it did not decrease to the expected level. For example, the cumulative size of the user mailboxes is 9.5 gigs versus 15 gigs for the combined total of EDB and STM files. Can someone...

User picked server side rules and email disappears

I finally figured out what the culprit was. The user sat at a different desk and configured Outlook 2003 at this temporary location. He failed to check the option to deliver to "Mailbox - Username" but accepted the default option "Personal Folders". I visited the machine and changed this option...

    Not receiving all external email

lebisol, I'll have to check the recipient policy to determine if it matches the old server. In addition, the old server is not completely gone. I am just at a stage to begin moving mailboxes. I need to thoroughly test the new server for a time before making a wholesale move.

    Not receiving all external email

Good day. I have an Exchange 2000 server and an Exchange 2003 server in my environment. I am gradually migrating to the 2003 server with an eventual decommission of the 2000 server. Trouble connecting to hosts on a subnet

Trouble connecting to hosts on a subnet

Andreh, Nope, I can't connect via the IP address either. The message "You may not have permission" comes up in Windows Explorer each time an attempt is made to connect to a host on that subnet. Puzzling.
