    if the card is working correctly, you will see on the lcd display K:x, where x is the number of ports you are licensed for. if you don't see that, the card is down. also make sure if you have license for x ports, all x ports are built out, or the card will crash randomly.

    do you have package 263 and 305?, without these packages loaded in your switch, you'll not be able to use the QSIG protocol. In which case, you're stuck with NI2 on the M1 side and customer or NI2 on the Cisco as well.

    Can I keep control of the call after agent releases?

    Not possible, once the agent answered the call, the call is "terminated" to the agent. The only options after this is xfer, conference or disconnect.
