Hi guys,
I know this may sound like a newbie question but is it possible to fit a gigabit module to a superstack 3300 switch.
I've not been able to find any information on it at all.
Any help would be appreciated.
Rob
Thats very helpful, thanks mate.
Just started a new business and we're currently mapping out all the new clients systems, which funnily enough all seem to use dell kit.

There are 2 different chipsets used on the different 2300's I think one is a BX and the other is a GX
The GX is obviously newer and is more forgiving of memory type. Email me directly if you want more information.
Hi
I've done a fair bit of playing with these machines:
Max CPU Speed : 1Ghz (100mhz chip)
Max RAM : 1024meg
Depending on the chipset you can use 133mhz ram, as long as the dimm in slot1 is a 100mhz chip.
Hope that helps

Is there any performance advantage?
Or would i be better off buying a new array controller from Ebay?
Thanks
Rob
Hi Doug,
FYI: if you can get hold of the genuine intel kits, they actually come with a built in heatsink. They also fitted directly into the sockets on my PE2300's
The only modifications i had to make were to put drive power connectors on the power cables for the fans.
You can check out the...
Hi Doug,
I realise i am coming into this thread a little late, just recently i upgraded 2 PE2300's to dual 1Gig Piii's. They were the intel retail boxed versions. I will try and dig out the part no, from the boxes.
One of the machines was an old Pii model, and the other was a piii model...
