I just got a new HP Proliant running Server 2003 to be a dedicated Faxination Fax server. Anyway, the Faxination software REQUIRES that i have the 5.5 Administrator loaded on the fax server in order to install. When i try to load anything from 5.5 i get the message saying i cant do it and it...

joegz,
thanks for replying here, i checked the association for .eml file and it was set to Outlook express. What should it be set to? Outlook?
thanks again for the input.
Steve
ok...more information. the user can open SOME attachements but not attatchments that are embedded emails. Seems to only screw up when an .eml file is sent as an attachment.
I have one user in 80 that cannot open an attatchment, she gets the "object not found" error. I am running exchange 5.5 with Office 2000 sp3 with all the updates. Even stranger, I can access her inbox from my pc and open the attachment.
any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Steve
i have 1 user in 80 that cant open attachments. its uncanny. I can open her inbox and view the attatchment from my pc. On hers, we get an "Object not found" error. Has anyone seen this before? I cant find any help in the support pages of microsoft and I need to find an answer...
ok...looks like i got it all figured out. I can ping internal machines on both sides. I was able to join a client machine to the domain this morning so i feel pretty good about that. Thanks for all the replies. One thing i would like to point out for those who are going this route. Make...
david, thanks for posting.
our corporate lan has an active directory structure with exchange, dns, dcs, fileservers, web servers. The vpn is to be used to allow users from halfway across the country to access the network. This will be a permanent fix for that work group. My main focus here...
I am not using microsoft vpn server. Should I? So far, the setup is just using the vpn appliances and i can ping the two separate networks from each other. I am just trying to figure out how to make this remote site act like the rest of the network and route accordingly.
thanks for the quick responses. the remote network is a 10.1.3.0/24 network and the corporate lan is of the 172.16.0.0/16 variety. Anyway, there will only be 5-10 remote users in this Lan to Lan (lan-lan) vpn. And the vpn appiance is also serving as a dhcp server. I did not have any plans to...
I have just set up a VPN connection between two Netscreen firewalls followin the Lan-Lan configuration. I can ping inside each of the trusted areas. So now what, how can I add client machines to the domain that come thru the VPN? Do I need a domain contoller in the remote area? How would I...
Erikcamacho,
thanks for the input. I ended up uninstalling and reinstalling office alltogether. I hate using that kind of shotgun approach to fixing things. I would rather find out the root cause and fix that. But alas, it only takes 15-20 min to uninstall-reinstall where as it may take...
I have a user with Office 2000 with exchange 5.5 that is having issues. Also, we have Symantec AV Corporate edition. has anyone seen this? She cannot view attatchments and the right click option is not allowed, no response.
Thanks,

I have a machine on my network sending out wierd packets, ip spoofing almost. Anyway, how could I find out which port of the switch this machine is on? There is evidently some sort of a program running that changes its IP everyso often. We are using the 172.16.1.0/24 network and the machine...
I have just mounted a 3550 48 port switch which I would really like to integrate into my current network using the GBIC interface (the one with the yellow cord). Anyway, I have been running 3 3548's with out a problem using the "cascaded stacked" configuration, connecting the GBIC...
