Changing the RAM on Proliant 1600

Well, if your going to just add in a stick to see if it works I'd say go for it. The Proliant 1600's especially seem to just not boot if they don't like the RAM config. FYI, I've used both Kingston and Simpletech RAM built to compaq spec for a few 1600's and its never given me a problem. The...

Compaq Prosignia 200 ROMpaq update now server toasted

I think it's history. Well with that said, here's what happened. I sure hope someone has good news for me... I have a Compaq Prosignia 200. It is running NetWare 4.11. The server rebooted and only booted up Netware up through the DOS portion. It also said card in slot 1 is a non-Compaq device...

Is there a terminal service compone

Not that I know of. In order to run Terminal Services on NT 4.0 you must have NT 4.0 Server TSE (Terminal Services Edition). There are several 3rd party enhancements for TSE, such as Citrix Metaframe, but I don't think there is anything that adds basic terminal services to NT 4.0 Server.

    Problem With Profiles

Figured this one out fairly easily. Duh.... I realized that on the two Metaframe boxes I did not have a "Default User" in %systemroot%\Profiles. During my move of all the profiles one of the things I did was delete all of the idle profiles that sometimes get left behind on a metaframe...

Help! Desperate is anyone here right now? Major sever prob m

I think I may have found the problem. When I go into Control panel there is a CompaqNet Icon for the NIC properties. It does not seem to have any configuration information like my other server does, which shows it set to Interrupt 11 (common for a NIC). Then when I go into my SCSI adapter...

    Problem With Profiles

Well I posted earlier about my PDC Compaq server problem. Thanks for all the responses. Just a recap the PDC was having a problem rebooting, pausing at system startup and waiting for a response at the console to either continue booting or to enter setup. All of the profiles and policies where...

ROAMING PROFILES - All Users Folder **Question**

First thought that comes to my mind is if you are using any sort of policy, the desktop settings in the policy could be over riding the roaming profile.

Big problem with Compaq server (200) m

Weird prompt "F1 to continue or F10 to enter patrition utilities" I'm at my wit's end-- no sleep everyone -- any advice? The real problem is the way the network was setup. The profiles and policies are stored on the PDC (Primary Domain Controller), instead of a file server. This means...

Help! Desperate is anyone here right now? Major sever prob m

Compaq server boots into weird promot "F1 to enter set up or F10 to continue booting" I think it is something to do with the backup it reboots when the backup is running. Ran diagnostic and setup

Help! Desperate is anyone here right now? Major sever prob m

PDC set to reboot every night so it stops every night at that screen-- thought I had fixed it but no. Problem with how profiles were set up by previous admin needs to be resolved too because users are pretty steamed. (Some tried to log in over memorial and couldn't access network)

Help! Desperate is anyone here right now? Major sever prob m

Could it be an interface on the scsi channel between the external backup drive and the controller while the backup runs that causes the reboot? I think it is something to do with the backup it reboots when the backup is running
