I am experiencing a renaming of one of my business mail databases from the .nsf to a .TMP when my weekly complaction runs. This just started a week ago and is becoming a regular occurance. I receive the following message in the logs.
"Unable to rename e:\notes\data\MAIL\<filename.tmp> back...

One other thing 5.0.10 does is force compliance with Internet mail standard RFC2821. Older SMTP users may find this out when their apps quit working. I had to keep one server at 5.0.9 for this reason.
Lotus has a fix for this that's still in testing phase. It replaces the nnotes.dll
I've experienced the same crash on one of my servers. I applied the fix over the 4th and am waiting to see if the crash happens again.
I'm not sure if it will make it in to 5.0.11 or not.
Did you set up an admin account when you installed the Domino server software? If so, this ID is in the NAB. Go to your work machine and either add the new server to your existing admin client. (Administration tab/refresh server list/) or if it the one and olny.. install the client software on...
I am looking for an easy way to prevent my users from sending encrypted mail.
Our policy is to keep a permenant record of all email and have it in a searchable format. We have run across a bit of data that was encrypted in the past and are having the users decrypt the mail. I need a way to...
I am needing to install several Comtrol Rocketport USB Modem Hubs to support dial-inusers to my Notes domain. I have been unsuccessful in getting these to be recognized by Notes. Does anyone have a .mdm file that will allow these modems to work?
If not, does anyone know of a multi-modem...

We had this problem for a while. It is indeed caused by the backup process running while Notes attempts to deliver a note to the database being backed up. What you need to do is insure Notes databases are NOT being locked while being backed up.
Whenever the backup software is updated, make...
I have some of my users that have encrypted their mailfiles. This practice is not recommended in our organization. I would like to identify the documents on my servers that have been encrypted and the users who have encrypted them.
Does anyone know of a way of doing this?
I have clustered and Partitioned Domino servers running NT4 and R5 5.0.7
When my servers fail-over all mail destined for the internet fails because the partitions don't want to share the web on port 80.
Does anyone know of a means of getting them to share the port 80?
This is a constant...
This problem can also be caused when backups are running and Notes attempts to deliver a message to the database. Most backup applications have a means of selecting to NOT lock the database while backing it up.
Sometimes you can cure this by dropping a user using the Admin client but most...
We use a product called "Mail Deleter" and run it every 90 days. If the user doesn't archive their mail. It goes away.
We also had an agent written that copies each email created daily and stores it out on a 'Document Management" database. This way we keep ALL coorespondence but...
When you set up an archive, the FIRST person to open the archive becomes the OWNER by default. When you set up archives for someone make sure you do it on their machine using their ID file.
The Lotus Approach (and its close cousin, Notes Reporter) database program has built-in support for Avery labels.
You can also use LabelPro for Lotus Notes from a company called Thuridion who can be reached at (800)LPW-1806.
Label Maker from Cambridge Software Group is another label maker...
Are you running partitioned servers? or using a failover configuration? Sounds like its a server availability issue where the server is failing over too soon.
