Web Collection Clip Art does not work through ISA 2000

Hi I am having a big problem with Office 2003. If I have the proxy server enabled in the users settings, the clip art in Office 2003 only searches local clip art, and not that from the Microsoft Web Colleciton. If I disable the proxy settings, it works a treat. I tried setting the proxy to...

Mail merge in Word 2003 from an Access 2000 DB problem

Hi We have just "upgraded" from MS Office 2000 to 2003. We are having a problem using mail merge in Word 2003. We want to use an Access database that is either an access 2000 database, or a converted database to XP/2003 format, as the source database, or recipient list as word calls it. If...

XP Pro and Windows Server 2003 - Slow Shares, but quick on UNC?

Hi I think it is resolved. It isn't a DNS issue, or a network hardware issue. More like an 2k3/XP problem. Windows XP Service Pack 2 solved the problem. It looks like it was an SMB signing issue between my clients and the servers. Anyway, all sorted. Thanks for your help. Paul

Slow access to shared folders, but fast to UNC path?

Thanks for that. I had fiddled with the SMB signing, but in the meantime I noticed that SP2 for WinXP is now available for download. It seems to thave fixed the problem. Now all I have to decide is whether to deploy it to 300+ workstations or wait for SP2a within the next week or so! ;-)...

Slow access to shared folders, but fast to UNC path?

Hi I have just performed a server upgrade from Windows 2000 Server to Windows 2003 Standard. We have 3 domain controllers, all of which now run Windows 2003 server. I am having major performance problems when trying to copy files to a network share on one of the 2k3 servers. For instance, I...

    Folder redirection problems

If you dont want to muck about with GP, then things should be fairly straight forward. Under the Users account details on the server, make sure that the Home Folder (under the profile tab) connects a drive letter to a path. For instance Drive Letter M: points to...

The title of that page is : Software Update Services Server 1.0 with Service Pack 1, not windows 2003 server. Software update services is Microsoft free edition of Windows Update Corporate. You can install it onto a windows 2000/2003 server to manage windows updates for your site. Using Active...

You need to look an the Microsoft official page for servicepacks, not some 3rd party site. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=FH;[LN];sp& This is the address,a nd I think you'll see the same as me. No Service Pack for Windows Server 2003. Sorry, but I don't know what you have...

Help Plz to Make My Computer As Domain Without Internet!

Whe you install Active Directory, you will be asked for 2 domain names, a DNS based domain name and a NETBIOS domain name. lets says your domain name is your company name such as ACME. Make your DNS based domain name: acme.local when asked for your NETBIOS domain name for older operating...

    Default Login

Did you do a clean install, or upgrade an older server OS? If a clean install, did you boot direct from the 2k3 CDROM and run setup that way? Setup ALWAYS asks for an administrator password. If I rememebr right, it is on the same wizard screen as the computer name.

    Mapping printers on logon

I will look into the subnet scenario. I want to avoid changing LAN structure. We use Nortel and 3com switches and to reconfigure would take quite a bit of work.

    Mapping printers on logon

There is something I didn't explain. The kids move between rooms. I only want them to see the printer in the room they are in. if I set up a logon script, they would be able to see all printers available. Our site is 110 acres and some printers are a 10 minute walk away. I want to be able to...

    Creating a .msi file

Do you have a Win2k Server CD? On that is a program called WinInstall LE. It will create a snapshot of the install of the .exe and bundle it into a .MSI which you can push out via AD. It's recommended you use a clean machine for the snapshot. I'm not sure if it will work on NT though. Maybe...

    Mapping printers on logon

We have a slightly different scenario. We are a school with 800 kids, 250 PC's and 15 different printers in different locations. We currently use a "ghost" like program called imagecast to image our machine software images. Each image has to be unique for each computer classroom...

    Network setup

Recommending equipment is always a dangerous pastime! Try this for size though: To connect to the internet, use a DSL router with built in firewall. try http://www.netgear.co.uk/html/prod_routers_chart.htm or http://www.dlink.com/products/Business/soho/index.asp#BroadbandRouter You will need...

    Network setup

You need to be a little more specific about your requirements for a network. Is it just to share files, printers and an internet connection? Will you be running a server based database? You say 10-12 PC's, how many individual users are there? It sounds like your on the right tracks hardware...

    Netfinity 6000R Unkown Device

Thats done it! Many thanks The odd thing is, is that Win2k showed the unplug icon on the system tray showing that the IBM ServaRAID, the Gigabit adaptor and the SCSI card can all be hot plugged before the active PCI driver was installed. Anyway, that is a bit of peace of mind knowing all...

    DNS HELP! Please!

mmmm The old DC has been blown away. No chance of a revival. I think I will have to rebuild the whole domain from scratch. At least that way I know that it is clean and working. I'm sure there is some residual from the old DC kicking about on the AD somewhere causing probs. Many thanks...
