Ok got answer from Legato.
Issue was a recent Win2K security patch removed the local administrator user from the backup group and changed the local security policy disabling the restores.
This was not an issue with configuration of Legato Networker.
Error message: Not Owner -- Legato 6.1.3...
win2k restore getting errror Not Owner.
I think this is a windows permission error. Is there way to see who owns the files I am trying to restore. I.E. nsrls
They are on the backup so Legato has the correct rights to backup the files not restore.

Is it possible to restore from a backup that failed with tape error 84 ?
We had 59Gb written to tape before the error occurred. Can I read any of the data ?
Answered my own question
You can modify the time when the the nsrck -MX runs by touching the file /nsr/mm/nsrim.priv. I think the nsrck run 24 hours after the datestamp on that file.
The only way around this is to specify the mountpoints and directories of the Filer you want backed up.
I think the access time of .snapshot gets updated everytime the snapshot is run.

I have forgotten the name of the file that is created to prevent housekeeping running. When the file is 24 hours old the housekeeping job kicks in and runs.
Not good if this happens the same time as the backup window.
Could someone jog my memory as to what the filename is called and where it...
Other than using the /usr/openv/netbackup/version file how can you tell what version of the client is installed on a Solaris 8 machine.
I am using netbackup 3.4.1.
All the patches I download appear for Solaris 2.6

Just a quick question on bpflist
I cannot get the query using the backupid to work. Am I right in thinking that the backupid is the a concatenation of the clienthostname_unixtime.
Also queries seem to be a bit hit and miss.
If I use the bpflist -U -ut 1053469877 -client unix1
The unix time...
Is there a way of determining what drive was used for a backup from the Jobid.
I have a media server connected to a Tape Library.
In the morning I check the job monitor and see error 84 -- I then want to check which media server, which volume and which tape drive was used.
I know I can get...
I have used the bpimage process to list backup information and used perl scripts to capture relevant information.
One thing bpimagelist does report on is the filesystem path
backed up.
E.g.
Solaris machine sun1 with two mount points
/business1 and /business2
I have defined a class containing...
Is there a more up to date version of the Netware Checklist.
http://www.legato.com/resources/bulletins/294.html
it is dated 1997.
I am having problems restoring files to a Netware box and it appears to be timeout issue. I.E. Sometimes the netware client connects and browses and othertime I get...
restore1 is added to the client index and as an administrator on lgsvr (which has changed from 5.5.3 to 6.1.2)
5.5.3 you didn't need to be an administrator to do a restore.
6.1.2 you need to add each client that will be doing directive restores to the administrator list.
I did a trace and it...
A dedicated Netware restore server was moved to another subnet and ever since I am unable to do any restores.
I am trying to do a directive restore and I am doing the following:
legato server=lgsvr
legato netware client=nwclient
legagto dedicated restore client= restore1
Run networkr.nlm on...
You can only browse indexes that within the clients browse period.
E.g.
If the client is defined as having a one month browse period and 1 year retention. After a month you will have either to do a saveset recovery or scan the index in, or recover the index after the backup and merge them with...
I think there are two ways to do this.
Already backup a filesystem and you want to change the retention/browse time. Use the nsrmm command, you need to know the savesetid (ssid).
E.g.
nsrmm -S ssid -w browse -e retention
Alternatively
The backups themselves can be assigned retention and...
I have seen this problem on our silo. It can happen when Legato becomes out of sync with the silo.
I.E.
TAPE 001234 is in slot 20
but Legato thinks it is in slot 40.
When you try and relabel the tape in slot 20 (which Legato does know about) it reads the Physical Label on the tape and hence...
