    Perl 5.6 vs 5.8

    I got errors when using perl 5.8 under RedHat 8.0 too. Perl 5.8 works fine under Redhat 7.1, 7.2, and I think the problem is on Redhat 8.0. I don't know what causes the problem, Hope someone find it out for me too. Here is an example of perl scrip that work fine on Tru64, Digital, Redhat 7.1...

    Problem of login shell???

    Make sure bash is installed in solaris box. I have a brand new unix machine. One of users account uses bash shell, and he could never login. Finally I found out that there is no bash was installed. After I installed it , everything comes fine. I hope you have the some problem.
