Have you actually seen yourself associate to the AP? How do you authenticate?
I have a number of 1100's in stores and warehouses. We get DHCP addys thru our server here at the data center. If you're able to pull an address ona workstation on the LAN that the AP's hang off, then you're clients...
No, wasn't a dup addy. I've seen jabbering NIC's before, but not this issue. All routes were in the routing tables on the routers. Yet, PC1 here could not see #1 there (remote end), but could see #2. Odd part IS, PC2 here COULD see #1, but NOT #2, totally opposite.
You're right, first guess...
Fairly large network, I have a tech two hops away at a remote site, he adds 2 PC's to the LAN there. Connectivty gets sporadic at the remote end, starts effecting things back into the next hop back towards me.
Me and another Admin begin pinging devices on the remote LAN. We'd ping ex...
No, not really. There isn't offline issues, the subnets are very large broadcast wise, and as I mentioned the IP bases subnets tend to send a lot of packets to the CPU for resolution. There are nine vlans, 1 port based, 3 IP based, AT, LAT, 2-Decnet, etc...basically, my idea s to ceate 3 port...
New to the company...but existing 8600 has 9 VLAN's, all protocol based, roughly 25 routers, many hanging off two LANs. I believe there are 3 IP based VLANs that should have been port-based. Traces show an awful lot of packets heading to the CPU for resolution, which means somebodys not sitting...
We've just purchased a second passport 8600 for our data center. Currently we have a single layer3 switch (8600) fornt ending our main routers. Im looking for some design help in setting the second 8600 in place to ease the burden on the first and also to provide some redundancy.
One solution...
Thanks Rick, I had gotten that far, know about Site mangler and Device Mangler, (have 8600's too)also have ftp'ed the files to the routers flash. However none of the bat files run on their own, nor does a menu driven command line run.
Is there another script to run to SETUP the menu? Or should...
Hi Guys,
Have a hopefully simple question for someone out there.
I have recently started a job with a bay/Nortel network, many ASNs and BLNS, though all the code does not have the embedded scripts in them. I was handed diskettes with the scripts seperate, and loaded them onto the flash. How...
I have diskettes with scripts files for added console commands. (we dont have them embedded in the code)
How does one get them to run? There are menu files and bat files for each command.
Thanks, that was the one, this worked fine with the 2600. I have a 2524 that does not come up with a rommon prompt, the router simply resets when I try to do a confeg comm...would have thought it'd be the same.
Different register for the 2524........

Have received two used Cisco routers, 2500 and 2600. Do not have the passowrds. I do remember learning a password procedure to get in the backdoor for these, yet, brain fry wont allow me to have total recall....anyone out there??
