Im not sure if this issue has been dealt with but, I would like to know if it is at all possible for a 802.11g Wireless LAN and a cordless phone to co-exist in the same office without a glitch. They both use the same 2.4GHz bandwidth. Is there a way around this?

Thanks in advance.

Usually. Some brands are "dirtier" than others, but the usual case is that will not interefere in a significant way. Many advise at least 10' of seperation between the phone base station and the location of the router.

What do you mean 10' degrees of seperation?

Ten feet apart in distance between phone base station and the physical location of the wireless router minimum.

they do coexist and there are problems of the hte WLAN link going down ...

things to note, the power levels of the WLAN is pretty low, when compared to your cordless phone. to solve the problem i change the channels on my cordless ..that brings back the link up. Mine is pretty far about ..about 30 feet but still it happens sometime

another source of interference is the microwave oven ...that also operates in the 2.4GHz band

I have two different 2.4GHz phones as well as 11g wireless. I have found that it can sometimes interfere. I had to experiment with different channels on the router until I found one that doesn't interfere. No big deal, but definitely a good gotcha. I also made sure there is plenty of distance between the cordless phone base and the AP.
