With SDk you can use the same libraries cognos 8 uses. So in general you can build a new reporting envirnoment if you like. But with the cognos 8 libraries you can also build additional functionallity such as memberships of a user, permissions of a user on all objects in the contentstore...

Sudhi, a few remarks: h) the PPES can also be deployed with depolyment manager i) the gateway can be changed in depolyment manager before you unpack the cognos versions on both servers MUST be exact the same. christenhusz

recommended by cognos is the uninstall/install option. installing on top of it will work as well.. why not go the "official" way? uninstalling takes only a few minutes extra.... christenhusz

Hi, 1.the content store connection is stored in the configuration manager, but stays on the same server so you don't have to change that. 2. the gateway and dispatcher URI's must be changed on server B. start run and you should be fine. 3. in cognos connection test the database connections...

sorry one day late.... here is the macro: change the "NewCatalogPath" and "ReportDirectory" path to the correct value, compile the macro again and run. Always try the macro first on a copy of your reports... ;-) Good Luck...
