Or you could hit the transfer/conference button, then the voicemail pilot number, followed by the # key and the extension number. If this is a 5500 console, you can program a button on the console to enter the voicemail pilot number and the # key for you.

Is the 5550 console network connection jumpered off the console PC, or is it connected to it's own switch port? I had the same problem when my console was plugged into the console PC. If you have a spare port, plug the console in there instead. Just make sure the spare port is on the same...
