I have a customer that wants certain phones to dial an internal extension if the phone is off hook for too long. Kind of a safety feature. They currently are doing this on a old Rolm switch and we are replacing with an IP500V2 running 8.0 (44) software and 95xx phones.

As I stated above we have had this on multiple systems to the point that I have escalated this to Backbone support. We are not the only ones with the issue, but Avaya is working on a firmware update to fix this.

Voice announce= call an internal extension, it rings once and goes off hook. You can then start speaking to them without picking up the handset. The system by default should do this.
I confirmed today that it was not the phones, but I can't find in system flags where anything would be different.

I am using the post dial action for a company that has a couple of locations in town for the purpose of Tornado alarm. It works great. Just dial a short code and walk away. It plays over the phones and loudspeaker paging.

@TomMills, the person who told me is on vacation, but in an R5 sales class we were told that they would be supporting them soom. Of course our sales guy takes that literally and sells one.
