    Report on configuration settings

We are upgrading a large number of NT4 server to Server 2003. It would save a lot of time if we had a utility that created a report of the configuration settings on the NT4 servers - WINS, DNS, DHCP, exclusions, reservations etc - before we rebuild them. Does anyone know of such a tool? Many thanks

Upgrade vs Rebuild - client implications

My team looks after networks in schools and we are going to be upgrading about 80 sites from NT4 Server to Server 2003 in the near future. We're evaluating both the upgrade and the rebuild options. In many ways rebuild would be preferable and we're looking at ways to automate this such as RIS...

    Powerpoint 2000 graphics from Master

Hello all. Is there any way of preventing a graphic inserted on the Master Slide from displaying on one or more slides in a presentation? For example not displaying a logo when you're showing a big table that covers the entire slide? Is the only solution to put a white box over it?

I would also be interested in people's solutions to this problem - otherwise I'm going to have to pay our ISP to do the job.

VPN Client Malformed Message using a Sonicwall

We are having similar problems with SonicWall and ISDN and VPN - but with MS Outlook. It seems that the problem is not uncommon and is related to the IP packet size being sent via the RAS server being too large for Outlook. You can try setting lower MTU values on your RAS...

    Installing SP6 on NT4 Server

I have done it. We used SQL 7 as the back end for an application that stopped working after the upgrade due to problems with the ODBC connections. However, reapplying the service pack of the application solved the problem.

Hello All My users are no longer able to see the contents of our Distribution Lists by right clicking on Properties. I'm sure that this is a permissions problem and I think it dates from my installation of Outlook Web Access. Does anyone know what I can do? Thanks

Thanks but I got my answer from the hp forum. The problem is particular to a couple of models of hp printers including the 2100s. The solution is to disable bi-directional support on the Ports tag.

    Print Jobs Logging

Sorry to ask what is probably an easy question..... I have recently rebuilt my NT4 server as Windows 2000. We have 6 printers, of which 3 are HP 2100TNs. Every print job is being logged for these printers, even after they have printed successfully, and sometimes the jobs are printed again for no...

    Unintended Hidden Recipients

    Exchange and attachments

Hello there We are also having this problem but it is limited to emails from specific clients. We are using Exchange 5.5 and Outlook 2000. Attachments from these clients are corrupted - though not if the mail is sent on from a Hotmail address. I suppose this bears out the theory of the problem...

    Pictures enormous in Word

Hello all, I have noticed that if I insert a scanned image into Word (97 or 2000) the size of the document increases by several MB. EG 2 x JPG files, 28 KB and 128 KB respectively, combine to create a Word file of over 7 MB even when there is no other text in the document. If I use MS Photo...
