We have a very strange DNS problem which we cannot rectify.
When IPCONFIG /ALL command is used on the server it brings up 2 domain names in the DNS suffix search list, the first being fine the second only shows up as co.uk as shown below:

Hope you can help, got a SBS 2000 server, serving 20+ clients.
The other week we set up a test OU and Group Policy with just something small like default wallpaper. We added 1 user to the group. After about an hour the GP refreshed and voila the wallpaper appreared on the users desktop...
That is the problem, I had the exact same problem with a clients PDC, months of trying to figure out what was wrong and in the end it was the share, or not shared in this case!

I fixed it.
Here was the problem ---------------------------
Under the Sysvol directory there is another Sysvol Directory, this folder is shared by default, someone or something had removed the share.
That was it, all those problems caused by that .. Someone...
All permissions are fine on every folder.
About 6 months ago we think that this server was hacked, we had certain evidence that someone unauthorised had been on it in one way or another. We took necessary measures and no one has been on since.
We have never set up policies before on this...
