corrupt attachments in exchange 2003

Hey,

We have recently installed a exchange 2003 server on a new windows 2003 server installation. We have also installed Symantec mail security 4.0 for exchange. The problems we are having is that some mail attachmens are getting corrupt. Sometimes it's word files other times it can be zip and pdf files. The sender off the mail can then try to send them again and sometimes they get through on the second or third try. We have tried to stop the symantec mail security but the problem still resist. We have I think narrowed the problem down to the exchange server.

Anybody out there who can help me, or has some ideas what i can try to do.
