apparently the 'group' attribute is a multiple value type attribute (similar to 'member' and 'member of') although it can only have 1 value. Go figure.
So in order to get the value you need to use the GetEx command and look at the first element in the array
e.g.
arrTest =...
Hi - I have no hair left and am turning to you for help.
I am running an LDAP query to return all the members of all my groups in AD. Some groups have a description, some don't.
If I add 'description' to my attribute list to return, I only get groups that have a description. If I remove the...
Newbie LDAP dude here...
Trying to find an easy way to dump security groups out of AD by type (ie Domain Local vs Global vs Universal)
You'd think they'd have that as a selection in their filters but sadly no. So now I'm resorting to LDAP. Can anyone help?
Thanks in advance.
I guess my terminology isn't quite right - basically I want to report by 'sites' and have a nice big report that summarizes the whole ePO structure by site...
I've been living with this problem forever, but I figure I'm not the only one, so maybe one of you have a solution...
I would <LOVE> to be able to generate a report using the major Directories off of my root of ePO. (I have a server directory, and then different directories for different lines...
it would take a bit of work, but you could create a script to check the value of this key on each workstation.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Network Associates\TVD\VirusScan Enterprise\CurrentVersion\szVirDefVer
(should probably check szEngineVer too.)
Sadly I have no script to offer.
Or you...
found a 'fix'
I had to stop the Framework service, manually create the VIRUSCAN7100 key (don't ask me why its spelled with only one 'S'... that tripped me up for a while) and all the string values, then did a full property wake up call and it worked.
If I didn't stop the Framework, something...
yep - I've got about 4000 other workstations working fine... it's just this one (and 62 others, and I have a feeling many of these will be the same problem.)
Investigating why ePO is reporting a workstation as 'unprotected' when it has VirusScan 7.1E installed.
Looks like it has to do with missing the VirusScan7100 entry in the Application Plugins section of ePO in the registry.
Any idea why this would happen and how to resolve? I have reinstalled...
There is another thread on this - NAI finally gave me the command line stuff - here's the site replication command:
Narepl32.exe /TaskID=0 /Replicate [/Incremental]
/Incremental is optional for incremental replication instead of full replication
Definitely exclude the temp directory - MailSweeper uses that a lot.
Also, what version VirusScan are you using? 7.0 and earlier versions don't handle exlusions that well. It still locks ALL files BEFORE determining whether it is in your exclusion list. 7.1 was supposed to fix that.
by the way - I have now tested it and it works like a charm. Just need to make sure the scheduled task runs under an account that has permissions to do what it needs to eg proxy servers, writing to repositories etc (I just use the epo service account like I did with epo scheduled tasks)
And the...
Howdy - it was like pulling teeth trying to get this from McAfee (I say Mi-kaf'-ee by the way...) so I thought I would share this with everyone in case you require it.
I am having Scheduled Task issues so my automatic pulling and replicating has not been working and I had heard that there are...
I just found that McAfee has a patch 5 for epo 3.0.2a that addresses some reporting issues. Maybe that was it

stumbled on this one by mistake while looking for something else on the McAfee website:

Fixes some reporting...
Hi - I'm having issues getting my Scheduled Tasks working and NAI is still working on the problem.
In the meantime they provided me with instructions on how to run a Pull Now from the command line (and then use Windows Scheduled Tasks to run it).
Unfortunately they didn't give me any parameter...
If you manage Groupshield with ePO, some versions report in a different format eg '4359' instead of '4.0.359', and in this case even though they are the same versions, the Groupshield has a higher number and gets reported as 'current'. I ended up removing Groupshield from ePO until I can get...
NAI is telling me that the SQL account has to be SA in order for this to work which seems ludicrous to me. SA should only be used for SQL Server maintenance - it would be like saying ePO needs to run using the NT Administrator account...
I can see the SQL account requiring dbo rights (which it...
