how do you tell what version. We followed the qmailrocks.com installation guide.
QMAILDUID=`id -u vpopmail`
NOFILESGID=`id -g vpopmail`
MAXSMTPD=`cat /var/qmail/control/concurrencyincoming`
LOCAL=`head -1 /var/qmail/control/me`
if [ -z "$QMAILDUID" -o -z "$NOFILESGID" -o -z "$MAXSMTPD" -o -z...
Okay....
Here is what I did to fix my problem:
Modified the /var/qmail/supervise/qmail-smtpd/run file and commented out the following:
#/home/vpopmail/bin/vchkpw /usr/bin/true
It should work with this but is doesn't.
Does this make sense?
Hello,
I saw an old post that touched this subject but it didn't have a resolution.
Now that our email server is up and running on new hardware, our netscape/Thunderbird users get asked for their passwords. It never accepts them.
Outlook and Squirrel Mail are working fine.
Any ideas...
Also:
when I do a ps -ef |grep qmail-send I get the following:
qmails 1015 1003 0 10:09 ? 00:00:42 qmail-send
don't know if that is good or bad.
Thanks

Hello,
I took over the IT department for a company that uses QMAIL about 6 months ago. I have learned a lot in that time however I was wondering if there was a company that offered QMAIL training.
Thanks,
Timm
Okay problem solved... We have two qmail email servers. Both were working fine. Added the other domain and the users and changed the firewall to accept their IP address since it is "off net" but didn't flush connections so it continued to work for about 45 minutes until all the connections...

Hey the Daver,
That is part of my problem.. I am not sure what log to look at for this problem. If you wouldn't mind, could you tell me what log to look at?
Thanks,

Hello,
though the vqadmin I added the new domain and about 40 users.
I verified they were in the rcpthost and local domains.
All the domains on that server can send and receive from themselves and send anywhere. They can not recieve from anyone else.
That was basically it.
Hello
Runing Qmail -- vpopmail and things were running well.
Added new domain from an off network location and now neither local network or off network can receive email from external domains.
Tried removing new domain but that didn't work either.
I found a post that worked for this problem but I don't really know why.
What I did was run the following:
./vsetuserquota user@domain.com 2500000000
It reset the usage and everything is running well.
THANK YOU for all your help. I really appreciate it.
Timm
I found something that said to remove the maildirsize folder but that was ineffective. Here is the information you asked about:

passwd: $1$MmHRuRPa$1BNGvdNTs1y3ZPOh1tLFF.
clear passwd: xxxxxxxxxxxx
